Micah had his first real bath today. He liked it better then I thought he would. Here he is all clean taking a nap after his bath.

1st shopping trip with mom

We had to go back for a weight check today and Micah had gained 5 ozs. Yeah!!! Then I decided to take him shopping with me to get some clothes since my maternity clothes are to big but my old clothes are still way to small for me. He did good as long as I kept the stroller moving. If I stop moving then he decided to scream, but all in all he did really good. Here are some pictures of Micah after we got home exhausted. By the way I was too.

1st trip to BarBar's & PawPaw's

We went to the grandparents house for the 1st time today. It was really exciting Micah slept the whole time!

1st Pediatrician Appointment

We had our first pediatrician appt today and Micah weighed in at 5 lbs 3 ozs. He has actually lost more weight since leaving hospital so the doctor has told us to feed every 3 hours instead of 4. So that we be lots of fun for mom at night. Everything else checked out good. We have to go back next week to get his weight rechecked.

Waiting and more waiting

Today I showed up at the hospital at 10:15 this morning and stayed until 8:15 tonight. I just sat there and enjoyed my son in my arms all day. It was very nice to be able to hold him, kiss him and talk to him. The only bad part of the day was that Micah had to get circumcised. Stephen and I did get to go into a parenting room to somewhat relax and feed Micah during the last feeding. He sucked down 55 ml in about 15 minutes. We could not believe it. Go Micah!! On to the good news as long as his body temperature stays up tonight then he will be going home tomorrow afternoon and our family will be back together at last. Please still keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

We are making some progress. Micah was taken off the sunlight tonight, but still has to stay in his incubator till his temperature stabilizes. We are still unsure of a deperature date. On an exciting note Micah had his first bath today. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We are so ready to be at home with both of our boys. I am to tired to write anymore tonight. Goodnite

Doc says I need a tan

Today has been an emotional roller coaster . Micah took 30 ml of formula at his 11 o'clock feeding and then 35 ml at his 2 o'clock feeding. But then they decided that he needed a suntan. His bilirubin was elevated and he wasn't keeping his body temperature up so they have put him in an incubator with sunlight. There was a little problem with his body temperature at his 5 o'clock feeding so they would not let me hold him nor feed him which was heartbreaking but when we went back at 8 o'clock I was able to hold him and feed him. He did really good at his last feeding and took 40 ml. FYI - he has to take 40 ml multiple times before he can come home so we were really excited. Please keep us in your prayers. I am exhausted from a very long day. I will update again tomorrow.

Movin in the right direction

Today started out by us finding out that they had taken Micah off his oxygen last night. Which was awesome news and then around 4:30 the nurse walk over and said are you ready to hold him and I was like "right now", I was completely not expecting that today. Then it only got better the nurse then came back like an hour later and said ok you ready to feed him. I was like of course so I got to feed me him his first bottle which was 15 ml . Which I never thought it would be that exciting until you have been through an experience like this. Well that isn't all the good news Micah's doctor also came by and said well it looks like he is going into a crib tonight. So all in all it was an incredible day for baby Micah. I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I will update everyone again tomorrow. By the way we are hoping to bring baby Micah home this weekend.

Update on Micah

Micah was taken off the CPAP machine this afternoon. He is making good progress. They also weighed him today and he is weighing in at 5 lbs 8 oz. Keri will be going home tomorrow and Micah will follow soon after. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
